Get to know Anine Bing: the woman behind one of the most talked-about brands of the moment and your new eventwear staple.
Global fashion house Anine Bing was born out of Scandinavian simplicity and American energy. Founded alongside joint founder and CEO Nicolai Bing, Anine is creates everyday wardrobe essentials and investment pieces for modern women. Intending to simplify everyday dressing, her pieces take a timeless and rebellious approach to style in the form of perfected denim, cashmere classics and printed sweatshirts that offer up a nostalgic throwback.
To celebrate the exclusive launch at David Jones Elizabeth Street and Bourke Street, we caught up with Anine to talk about inspiration, style muses and what she reaches for when she’s getting dressed.
Where do you seek inspiration for your designs? I love perusing flea markets and vintage stores. Also, travelling is another huge source of inspiration for me.
The brand is about statement pieces and luxurious basics; what should every woman have in her wardrobe? A blazer, a great pair of denim, a crisp white shirt and boots. I’ve been loving our Quinn Blazer lately, paired with our classic Mika Shirt, Sonya Jeans and new Wesley Boots.
Who is your style muse? Kate Moss and Bianca Jagger.
When you’re not wearing your own designs, who are you wearing? I tend to only wear ANINE BING when it comes to clothing, but I love mixing my pieces with vintage Chanel bags, as well as Louis Vuitton and Hermes. Their pieces are so timeless.
